“I’m writing to tell you of the wonderful experience I had working with a microfilm scanning company in Florida called Generation Imaging (http://generationimaging.com/). I wrote to about half a dozen companies, and GI got back to me right away with a very good price. The Library of Congress took longer than expected to process the films, so I only had a week to get the films to GI in Florida, have them converted, and then sent back before leaving for Munich. I worked with Damian Hospital (damian@generationimaging.com), who arranged everything like clockwork. The films arrived back today and the images are beautiful (bright and clear). I very highly recommend this company—in terms of service, professionalism, cost, and quality of the work, they are outstanding.” - Despina Stratigakos, Buffalo New York
“The tapes and disc arrived this PM. Appreciate your help. Timing is great. And ever since I have been playing with material on the disc. The access is great!!! Frustrated by microfilm reader-printers that don’t, I asked generation imaging if they could scan my microfilms into a pdf file and publish them on cds. They did, and the result is fantastic! Clarity and convenience. I am delighted. Many thanks!” - Frank Fox, Miami Florida“Just thought I’d let you know that the files and DVD got here just fine. I loaded the images onto my computer and they look fantastic–light years from what I was dealing with down at the library. You have done a great job and the service was outstanding. Not sure how much imaging I’ll personally need in the future, but I would have no hesitation recommending you to others. Again, a really great job.” - Tom Roubidoux, Omaha Nebraska
“I’m completely satisfied in every way-with my communication with Dan Gandul and Damian Hospital, the attractive pricing, fast turnaround, and very high-quality scans. I’ve recommended Generation Imaging to others, and will be sending more microfilms their way soon.” – George Ferencz, Whitewater, Wisconsin
“Damian, I have just had the time to download the CD and images that you produced of my military records, I want to express my sincerest appreciation for the outstanding work you did. I am very satisfied and happy that I can now print out images for historical and personal purposes. Again, thank you for your service. I will be happy to recommend you to anyone.” - Colonel Don Meek
“I got the files back today. I am very impressed by the quality, speed, and price of your service! Thank you.”- Brian J. Reilly, Visiting Assistant Professor, The Johns Hopkins University
“When we had a second batch of microfiche to scan, we contacted Generation Imaging immediately. No need to go anywhere else. We will continue to be repeat customers!” M. Dillon, Harvard University
“Thanks for the excellent work and service which is, “faster than a speeding bullet.” John Willi, Louisville Kentucky
“The microfilm rolls and corresponding CDs arrived safely and it’s just like magic to me! We were very concerned the film would deteriorate and we would lose our records. We are very pleased with the care you took and with the resulting CD.“- Sally Thomas, Alpha Delta Pi

I obtained duplicate sets of microfiche from the Naval Historical Center. Upon viewing them at my local community college I was quite dismayed at the poor quality, as many of the images were almost totally dark, these being negatives. I thought that, perhaps, something might be possibly extracted from them nonetheless, particularly if greyscale was employed.
Working with a fellow reearcher in England, we had waited about 6 months to receive the microfiche, so one can understand our dismay. And, as I had ordered two sets, one for him and one for me, I was further dismayed that they weren’t of equal density, so who would get what?
I called Dan Gundal at Generation Imaging and explained the problem. We certainly didn’t want to go back to the Navy and have a further delay. Dan said he had about the best equipment around and that Generation Imaging would do their upmost to pull out whatever could be done.
Well, he was more than true to his word and I was amazed that they were able to display every page such that we could work with each. I fully expected there would be many blank pages, but there weren’t. It was terrific. Oh, there was a limit one could get, the old GIGO effect, but they really outdid themselves.
And, he knew that I was really in a hurry to get this done. I sent both sets to Dan and within a week I had the DVD in hand and, as I said, the results were impressive. The price for the work was also reasonable, especially when you consider the extra care that was taken to get the very best results possible.
In summary, I am more than happy with the service I received from Generation Imaging.
