Florida Microfilm Scanning Company

Generation Imaging is your all-in-one microfilm scanning service bureau for Florida. Whether you require 16mm microfilm scanning or 35mm microfilm scanning, Generation Imaging has the ability to convert the media to digital image.

Your digitized roll film will be scanned to PDF, TIFF, JPEG to an external hard drive, USB stick, DVD, or file transfer server. You can then make unlimited copies of the images, load them on your computer systems or network, print them or import them into your electronic document management filing system.

If you need help identifying what type of roll film you have, Generation Imaging can assist you. Newspapers, blueprints, plat maps, large ledgers, seismograph records, and engineering drawings generally find their way on 35mm reels and usually have around 500 to 1000 images on a reel.

Meanwhile, 16mm rolls contain almost anything you could think off which were on documents, such as medical records, government documents, court records, police records, genealogy, mortgage documents, bank records, financials, and many more. Of course, nothing is truly exact in the microfilm scanning industry, so there is overlaps of document type between 35mm and 16mm roll film. Contact us now.

Florida Microfiche Scanning

Generation Imaging is your one-stop microfiche scanning service for Florida. Instead of trying to find out how to scan microfiche on your own, Generation Imaging are the experts at scanning microfiche for you.

If you have a need to digitize microfiche in Florida, Generation Imaging just needs to know what type of microfiche you have. Generation Imaging can help you determine what type of microfiche you have if you are not sure. Microfiche types include COM fiche (computer output media), 16mm or 35mm jacket fiche (strips), step-and-repeat fiche (fixed grid), and other less common types, such as combo fiche, ultra fiche, and rewritable fiche.

Buying a microfiche scanner is very expensive and the cheap microfiche scanners are not automated and are just a small step above a microfiche reader printer. Generation Imaging uses ribbon scanning which is a process which captures all the frames on the microfiche at one time. The scanner operator and quality control department will ensure that all the images are detected and saved out at the best quality. Call or e-mail us for more information.

Florida Aperture Card Conversion

Do you need to scan an aperture card in Florida? Generation Imaging is here to help. An aperture card conversion creates a PDF, TIFF, or JPEG of the flat image. Usually aperture cards contain 35mm frames of blueprints, engineering drawings, or maps, although there are 16mm strip variants which have standard documents.

Identifying aperture cards is actually the easiest from all the different types of microform. Apertures are made up of thin cardboard (larger than 6 x 3 inches) with a rectangular image (larger than 2 x 1 inches) pasted in the right side. Some aperture cards have Hollerith punches in them. Hollerith code was used as machine language for PC cards in ancient times, but are still used today with aperture cards. Generation Imaging has the capabilities to read the Hollerith holes, which would create an indexing scheme to name the images. Otherwise, the images would have to be named sequentially or keyed manually by the header of the aperture card.

Document Imaging Services in Florida

In addition to converting microfilm, microfilm, aperture cards, slides, and documents to digital image, Generation Imaging also has other Florida document imaging services. These include indexing scanned images, like for examples: name, social security number, drawing number, police code, or land deed book and page number.

If part of your specifications, Generation Imaging can crop images to remove black border, rotate images, invert from positive to negative, remove speckle, and apply other image enhancements.

OCR (object character recognition) is a popular document imaging service which makes PDFs text searchable.

Best Florida Microfilm Scanning Company?

The word “best” may sound presumptuous, arrogant, or condescending, but I assure you that is not our intention to be cocky when titling this post “Best Florida Microfilm Scanning Company?”. In fact I left the question mark in there for you to find out yourself. One definition of best is “of the most excellent, effective, or desirable type or quality”. As you can see I’m not comparing Generation Imaging to other Florida microfilm scanning companies, I am simply stating confidence in the services that Generation Imaging provides. It’s OK to be confident, right?

Damian Hospital and Dan Gandul- G.I. Partners, LLC- have a small business mentality which focuses on customer satisfaction, low prices, high quality, meeting deadlines, and giving advice when necessary. There are indeed many Florida microfilm scanning bureaus, some are large corporations, some are small, some focus on other industries, and some work out of their garage. There is even one company online that offers “Florida microfilm scanning” services, but it is actually based in California. That’s a nice little hook. Also, thanks to the beauty of the internet anyone can set up a storefront and claim to offer Florida microfilm scanning services without actually owning any micrographics equipment.

We all have to make a living, so I don’t begrudge anyone exercising their freedom of speech, but I just wanted you to know that G.I. Partners, LLC is a legit Florida microfilm scanning business located in Florida.

Generation Imaging treats a client with one roll film the same as a multimillion dollar company with 20,000 reels. Communication is an important component of choosing a Florida microfilm scanning business, and you can be rest assured that G.I. will get all of the necessary specifications for your conversion project. After G.I. gets all of your requirements, once the digitization process begins, we will keep you abreast of any issues that may arise and when we are nearing completion of our agreed due date.

You can read some Generation Imaging testimonials if you are still unsure about G.I. being a viable solution for your Florida microfilm scanning needs. CONTACT US

Florida Microfilm Scanning

There are quite a few Florida microfilm scanning companies. It goes without saying that the state is big and has many different regions and cultures. The bigger the city, the more digital conversion bureaus. Generation Imaging is a Florida microfilm scanning company situated in Dade County.

What factors go into making a decision about which Florida microfilm scanning company to use?

microfilm scanning

1- Location. For many Floridians, to be within driving distance is an important factor. In fact the first thing organizations who need roll film digitized check is for conversion companies in their area. The mentality is usually based on the fear of lost shipments, shipment costs, or having the film nearby.

Although these seem like valid concerns, much of the fear in not justified. First, USPS has tremendous competitive rates compared to Fed-Ex and UPS. More and more clients use and request USPS than ever before.

The risk of losing film in the mail may be pretty much the same of having an airplane crash. The chances of getting into a car accident on the way to the local company may be greater.

As far as having the film nearby, well there are many services people use that aren’t nearby and require sending things in the mail. Converting roll film is not like bringing your automobile into the mechanic.

2- Arguably, price is the most important element of choosing a Florida microfilm scanning service bureau. Generation Imaging has the lowest price structure for various reasons, including knowing the market, keeping overhead low (you know, like not spending an $8,000 monthly rent), and not engaging in corporate waste (such as paying employees to “keep them busy” or buying lunch for upper management every day.  Generation Imaging is a wholesale Florida microfilm scanning company: no middle-men, no subcontracting, and no mark-up costs.

3- For clients that have been through the ringer of using multiple conversion companies, reputation of quality of service may actually supplant pricing. If you are tired of missed deadlines, poor quality images, bait and switch quotes, lack of communication, and up front money demands, give Generation Imaging a try for Florida microfilm scanning. Dan Gandul and Damian Hospital’s faces, phone numbers, and e-mails are all over the internet. They have nothing to hide. Their company is G.I. Partners, LLC, which handles Florida microfilm scanning. Dan and Damian will either supervise, manage, quality control, or in some cases actually digitize your roll film project. G.I. is 100% accountable and takes full responsibility for your project.

What exactly do you have to lose by switching Florida microfilm scanning companies by at least giving Dan and Damian a chance? Loyalty or habit? If you are truly satisfied with your current Florida microfilm scanning company- that’s fine. But if you’d like to at least see if you can save money on a Florida microfilm scanning quote, please feel free to contact us. CONTACT US
